Thanksgiving: Bishop John V. Taylor
Date added: 29/05/2020
THANKSGIVING: BISHOP JOHN V. TAYLOR
What tears are these that run down cheeks unchecked?
For a burning star in the African sky
and the Anglican firmament;
For a personal poet of go-between theology;
For a passionate lover of God, of Peggy,
of art and of Africa;
For his visionary insight into meetings
of politics, faith and ecology;
For his drawing delight in producing plays
in Uganda and Winchester;
For his spiritual reflection of our missionary God
in the face of Jesus Christ.
What tears are these that run down cheeks unchecked?
Tears of joyful anointing and missing mission;
Tears of thanks, for giving to me
encouraging depth, writing and blessing.
