A poem written at home, 13 Dec 2024. It is a revision of my poem 'Christ the Tree',  written on Christmas Day, 2022. 

Poem written at Launde Abbey, Leicestershire, during a Quiet Day, expounding the Parable of the Sower (Mark 4.3-20) and Benson Ndaka's mahogany carving of that passage on the library door (the Word of the Lord in the New Testament) of St Andrew's College, Kabare, Kenya, which I commissioned in 1991.

I wrote this poem on Christmas Day 2022 at noon in Brighton when our daughter and her young family were all asleep, exhausted. See a revised version of this, 'Christ the Tree Hymn' in the form of a hymn, 13 Dec 2024.

The year 2025 will be the 1,700th anniversary of the Nicene Creed, written at the Council of Nicaea, 325 AD. This poem notes the lack of statements of the life of Christ between his birth and death.

Ultimate location in Christ joins with the ultimate prayer book of Christ.

The concept for this poem came from the end of my sermon at Selwyn College Chapel, 22 Jan 2023, which was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 as part of Sunday Worship from the chapel.
